Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do I need to grant music library access?

MusicCount needs permission to read your music library data, including song metadata and play counts. Without this permission, the app cannot function. All data stays on your device—nothing is uploaded or shared.

Q: Will queueing songs increase my play count?

Yes! When you queue a song and it plays in Apple Music, Apple Music will increment the play count. This is how you can match play counts between duplicate songs.

Q: Why don't I see any suggestions?

Suggestions only appear when you have duplicate songs (same title and artist) with different play counts. If you don't have any duplicates in your library, this tab will be empty.

Q: Can I use this with Apple Music streaming?

Yes! MusicCount works with both purchased music and Apple Music streaming content, as long as it's in your library.

Q: Does this work offline?

Yes! MusicCount works completely offline. It only accesses your local music library data. However, to queue and play songs, you'll need Apple Music to be available.

Q: Is my data private?

Absolutely! MusicCount does not collect, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Q: How do I revoke music library access?

Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music → MusicCount and toggle off the permission.

Q: What happens if I queue a song 100 times?

All 100 instances will be added to your Apple Music queue according to your chosen queue behavior. You can skip through them or let them play. Play counts will only increase for songs that actually play.
